Quality Contacts

It’s easy to say “contacts”, but the value we give to each of them defines our professional and personal relations.

“Contacts” has become the buzzword in the job market. Most of times entrepreneurs undervalue the endless potential behind that word.

Quantity and quality are often misunderstood, because people think that having lots of contacts means more visibility. The influence of social media has been remarkable, because everyone has had a direct access to contacts with this media revolution, instead of a real selection.

Contrary to popular belief, contact numbers is not necessarily proportional to business opportunity. Nobody would make a deal with a faceless phone number or a casual private message.

Word-of-mouth is indeed a way to increase our contacts, but the magic word is still the same: focus on people.

Getting to know people, starting a personal relation is the big difference. Casual contacts and relevant contacts are the two main groups deriving from it.

Relevant contacts include our friends, professional partners, suppliers, customers; random contacts are people we just met once or someone with a “like” on social media.

Taking into consideration what mentioned above, it is easier to understand why real, active and natural networking is happening among relevant contacts, whereas passive, occasional, unplanned networking is the focus of random contacts.

The professional, the entrepreneur must work on these relations to turn random contacts into relevant contacts. Friends and collaborators network will contribute to our  personal and business growth!

Relation is a Value, take care of it!
