Shut up and take your time

In a noisy and restless society, taking some time for yourself is a revolution.

At the end of March I was in Fano with my partners of the project “Enlightened Entrepreneurs”, a city which to me is a symbol of silence and spiritual rebirth.

Yes, silence, that place where we come back, often only when we are facing hard times.

Instead, we should learn to use silence many times over our life, over years, months and the weeks. We should even learn to practice it in our daily life, because silence help us finding ourselves.

Fano is the venue of Monte Giove Hermitage, where I first went as I was writing the last chapter of my book “Right Here, Right Now”.

First, I isolated myself and switched off all my means of communication with the outside: cell phones, computer, mail. I wanted to find  again my spirituality starting from myself.

Silence offers questions to ponder about, and, then, also the answers to these questions.

It is not easy, on the contrary, it a really challenging time, because the answers that come first do come from our mind, they’re simply rational.

Patiently, opening up to ourselves without any prejudice, we’re slowly feeling the real answer, from the connection between our mind and our heart. From this moment on, the path of silence becomes a path of words, voice, sound that make us feel god.

Searching within ourselves help us consciously reach that detachment between a real well-being, being healthy and satisfied with very few things to be happy, and the empty attachment to material things to derive some happiness from.

Happiness, however, is just a state of mind.

Having some rest to think and remain silent is important for me, because I’m not waiting for hard times to make me do it.

That’s what Enlightened Entrepreneurs do: in a given situation, they decide to stop, to take a break. This break is the trigger to speed them up in the right direction, the one to be efficient and really have a meaningful life.

Success is understanding who you are and realize your true self. Have a break, have a silence and enjoy the journey!
