Luck/Bad luck

“I do believe in Life”

I’m sipping my morning coffee at the bar when I look at a man, dressed as a carpenter who is about to waste his money in those useless games where you bet on numbers.

He’s happy, hopeful, thinking maybe it’s the right time, and he’s going to change his life. His wife is sorrowful, a friend incites her to be more confident.

Wrinkles sign the face of husband and wife, though they’re young, teeth are battered and hands are dirt with work. Numbers have been bet, the man is sitting in front of a video showing winning numbers. His face gets darker after the first number has been drawn; the man is sad and beats his fist on the table, once again he has won nothing. He complains about his bad luck, he can’t live anymore like it, his life is doomed. His wife has tears in his eyes and her friends offers a coffee as a consolation.

Damn life is the excuse of dear gambler friends. Even the bar waitress was sad, as though guilty of that situation.

When someone wants to earn on someone else’s misfortune and ignorance, life takes its toll. It happens when business owners make money by taking people to the gallows, or when society feeds the mind of people with ignorance. It happens when, given a choice, people avoid it, when smart people know what’s going on but remain silent.

Gambling or pawning is one of the worst 5 plagues of people’s life. This plague is rooted in the ignorant choice of letting someone else decide for you life. Solution is taking your own life’s responsibility. Yes, that kind of life we play the main role in, that life that makes us feel alive and help us to be an example for ourselves, our children and the entire society.

What it you want, it will be. Decide and take it.
